The APO-LANTHAR 35mm F2 Aspherical is a high-performance semi-wide-angle lens for full-frame (Nikon FX format) mirrorless cameras with the Nikon Z mount, which is the twin of the APO-LANTHAR 50mm F2 Aspherical. A standard lens designed for ultimate performance. The apochromatic design minimizes axial chromatic aberration of RGB, the three primary colors of light, to as close to zero as possible. This results in performance that will revolutionize the value of semi-wide-angle lenses. The lens has a tight, compact style that also offers high portability and good handling.
Main Features
Designed exclusively for the Nikon Z mount
Optics optimized for the image sensors of mirrorless cameras with the Nikon Z-mount are implemented. The lens has a full-frame image circle and can be used with both full-frame (Nikon FX format) and APS-C size (Nikon DX format) mirrorless cameras.
Apochromatic design
This design thoroughly eliminates various aberrations including axial chromatic aberrations and pursues the ultimate performance in terms of resolution and contrast reproducibility.
Optical glass and mechanical components that deliver high performance
Of the 11 elements in 9 groups in the optical configuration of this lens, 5 elements are made using anomalous partial dispersion glass, 2 elements have aspherical surfaces on both sides, and the lens also employs a floating mechanism.
Information communication with the body by electronic contacts
This lens is equipped with electronic contacts and realizes communications between the lens and the body. In addition to Exif information and in-body image stabilization (3 axes), by combining with a body compatible with communications and the latest firmware*1, three types of focusing support functions ( [1] focusing by color changing of the focus point frame [2] peaking function focusing and [3] focusing with the enlargement button) are supported.
A 12-blade aperture for "blurred ball" expression
The 12 aperture blades, have a special circular shape that attractive, not only at the maximum aperture of F2, but also at a range of smaller apertures. This allows photographers to take full advantage of the " blurred ball " effect of point light sources and other image situations.
Manual focus for reliable focus operation
Adopting a full-metal helicoid unit processed and adjusted with high precision and high-quality grease that produces an appropriate torque, focusing with a smooth operation feeling is realized. It enables fine focus adjustment.
