This extremely high performance lens optimized for M-mount full frame sensors is the semi-wide angle lens with the highest level of performance in Voigtländer history. Its apochromatic design reduces the axial chromatic aberrations of RGB, which comprise the three primary colors of light, to practically zero, thoroughly eliminating various aberrations and pursuing the ultimate performance in terms of resolution and contrast reproducibility.

Optical glass and mechanical components that deliver high performance
Of the 11 elements in 9 groups in the optical configuration of this lens, 5 elements are made using anomalous partial dispersion glass, 2 elements have aspherical surfaces on both sides, and the lens also employs a floating mechanism.
12-blade aperture diaphragm for enjoying expression utilizing bokeh balls
The 12-blade aperture diaphragm utilizes a special shape to ensure a circular aperture opening at the maximum aperture of F2 as well as at aperture settings such as F2.8, F5.6 and F16. This enables imaging utilizing bokeh balls of point light sources.
Minimum focus distance of 0.5 meters
The lens focuses beyond the minimum rangefinder-coupled focus distance of 0.7m all the way down to 0.5m. Utilizing the live view function of a rangefinder-coupled digital camera, this enables you to get even closer to the subject.
Bayonet type hood (sold separately)
The durable and beautiful metal LH-13 bayonet type lens hood is provided as an optional accessory.
Manual focus for reliable focusing
Employs a very precisely machined and adjusted all metal helicoid unit lubricated with high quality grease to realize smooth focusing operation with just the right amount of torque. This enables very precise focusing.
Bayonet type VM mount
Uses the VM-mount lens mount compatible with Leica M-mount.
Installed with a focus-coupling system
The high-precision rangefinder coupling mechanism enables precise focusing in focus critical situations such as when shooting at or close to maximum aperture.
