Provides the widest angle of view in the world that does not distort the image like a fisheye lens. Pursues optical performance that ensures straight lines are captured as straight lines. Features lens elements with aspherical surfaces that thoroughly eliminate distortion.

Optical design optimized for digital

Employs an optical design that optimizes the angle of incident light reaching the imaging sensor to eliminate color shifts around the image periphery caused by the characteristic structure of digital camera image sensors. Features excellent contrast and resolution right into the corners even from maximum aperture.

Pan focusing

The extremely deep depth of focus means there is almost no need to focus. When the lens focusing position is set to 2m and the aperture is set to f5.6 everything from 0.5m to infinity is in focus, and when the lens focusing position is set to 1m and the aperture is set to f8 everything from 0.4m to infinity is in focus.
